Office of Deputy Director of Higher Education is situated in the Mini Secretariat Mohalla Jullakhari near Bharmour Chowk  in the historical town Chamba. The office a vital link and is responsible for improving the quality of Higher Education and  implementing the policies and programmes of Department of higher Education. Chamba is a town in the Chamba district in the Indian State of Himachal Pradesh.

The town is situated on the banks of Ravi River at its confluence with the Sal River. Chamba the land of Lord Shiva is famous for its untouched natural beauty. The District has Dalhousie, Khajjiar, Chamba Town, Pangi and Bharmour as main tourist destinations. There are five lakes, five wild sanctuaries and countless number of temples.
